GENERAL TIPS

Having just bought a 1969 MKll mini and whilst cleaning out the sliding window channels which were quite dirty I hit upon the following idea. As you know these fill up with dust and moss etc. I gently scraped out the channels with flat bladed screwdriver and blew the resulting dust away. To improve the appearance I found that if I brushed in good old fashioned black shoe polish and then removed any excess with an old rag, then they would come up just like new. An added benefit is that the channels are waterproofed to a degree plus the windows now slide easily in the channels. Give it a try, you'll be amazed.
